RPG; Combat and Inventory

Combat is a regular thing in games. There are many different ways around showing the combat system.

Again I want it simple and well understood.

As I said further back I wanted a system in which will certain task there to be a different control system like in Heavy Rain, too make it feel more life like. Only during important story cut scenes, not always. There has to be room for free fighting.

Also as previously mentioned, I liked the weapon system on Dead Rising. For Charlie living on a rough estate for him to pick up object that can be made into make shift weapons, rather than the risk of buying.

Obviously nothing as extreme as those!!

I even looked into what weapons can be made at home. There is many I tell you.

All you have to do is Google, and it comes right up, strangely enough.

Inventory is another important feature of a game, you have to see what your carrying and what use it would be to you.

One thing that really annoys me, all these characters in RPG games and carry so many weapons and food and even the kitchen sink yet you can never see in on them. Grrrr.

So for this reason to at least make it more real, I have given Charlie a back pack. He’ll thank me later.

In this Charlie can carry round everything he needs, or wants.

You can choose to have your back pack on or off. However you loose the amount of weight you can carry. You only have a small amount of weight in which you can carry that in gained by Charlie’s pockets.

Inventory systems can look very complicated.

Last but certainly not least, Skyrim

I prefer an inventory system like Skyrim, its all lovely and neat and understandable. So I have taken a leaf out of the lets have our players easily navigate through there inventory book and designed my own inventory system.

I had a play around in Photoshop and the end result is this.

I haven’t put the mini map in yet as my blocked out Unreal Engine map it far from ready, and that’s the screen shop I wanted was all the houses to size down into a little mini map.
